Focus: Evangelism, Sports
Connection: Local Church in Nassau
A mission trip to Nassau, Bahamas combines Gospel evangelism with practical support for the community. Team members seek opportunities to share the good news of Jesus Christ in the streets of Nassau through respectful conversations, prayer, and clear gospel presentations. Alongside outreach, the trip includes supporting a youth basketball camp, where athletes learn fundamentals, teamwork, and discipline while also receiving encouragement from faith-filled mentors. These activities create natural points of connection, helping the team earn trust and open doors for meaningful spiritual conversations.
A major focus of the trip is intentional engagement with high school students. Whether before drills, during breaks, or in small discussion moments, team members have the chance to ask questions, listen to students’ perspectives, and speak truth about God’s love, purpose, and redemption. Camp settings make it easier to talk about real-life issues—identity, hope, peer pressure, and future goals—and then connect those concerns to the Gospel. As the team spends time buildingrelationships, students are not only “reached,” but also valued, which helps the message land with dignity and authenticity.
The impact on Bahamian natives is expected to be both immediate and long-term. In the short term, street outreach can plant seeds of faith through conversations and prayer, while the basketball camp and student mentoring strengthen community bonds and create lasting memories tied to positive role models. In the long term, networking with a local church helps ensure the work continues beyond the trip—supporting follow-up, discipleship, and ongoing discipleship opportunities for students and families. By partnering with local believers who understand the culture and needs of Nassau, the mission can become more sustainable, reflective of Christ’s presence, and more likely to result in continued spiritual growth within the community.
