Destination: Cape Town, South Africa
Dates: November 12-20, 2027
Focus: Evangelism, Sports
Connection: Local Church, and Evangelism in the Cape Town area

A Gospel-oriented mission team will be traveling to Cape Town, South Africa, with a purpose to proclaim the truth of Jesus Christ to local residents and visitors through street-level evangelism and prayerful relationship. Streets and neighborhood gathering points became holy ground as the team will look for open conversations—listening with compassion, responding with wisdom, and sharing hope grounded in God’s Word. In every interaction, the mission will remain Christ-centered: encouraging people to turn toward God, receive forgiveness through Jesus, and find a lasting purpose that is not dependent on circumstances.

In addition to outreach throughout the city, the team will provide support for a church plant serving the Cape Town community. This partnership strengthened the work of discipleship by helping with practical needs, assisting leaders, and offering encouragement to those laboring to build a church rooted in Scripture and prayer. The church plant will be a consistent hub for ministry, where evangelism efforts could be strengthened through fellowship, teaching, and follow-up—helping people connect the Gospel with real community and the life of faith.

To reinforce local connection, the team is scheduled to visit multiple key locations across Cape Town, using each setting as a strategic opportunity to bless and build trust. Whether speaking with people in busy public spaces, interacting in everyday routines, or joining local moments where families and youth gather, the team will aim to meet people where they are while pointing them to God’s truth. Time with locals will also include purposeful explanation of the Gospel from the Bible—sharing how Scripture reveals God’s character, humanity’s need, Christ’s salvation, and the call to respond in faith.

The mission also will also provide support for a youth basketball academy, creating a meaningful bridge to serve families and invest in the next generation. Through basketball training sessions and mentorship, the team can encourage young athletes while also having opportunities to speak with high school students about identity, perseverance, and hope. The trip will include prayer walks throughout Cape Town, as team members will walk neighborhoods and intercede for homes, schools, and hearts. In word and action, the team will seek to impact local residents in a way that clearly proclaims evangelism and faithfully points people to the life-giving truth of God’s Word.
