In 2028, a Gospel-oriented mission team is preparing to travel to Los Angeles, California for the Olympic Games with a clear purpose: to share the message of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit. Expecting fans and visitors from more than 70 countries, the team will look for divine appointments throughout the city—especially in the busy pathways that lead to the venues, the Olympic Village areas, and gathering spaces where people are eager, curious, and open to conversation. While the Olympics will bring global excitement, the mission will stay centered on eternal hope, invitingpeople to hear and respond to the Gospel in a way that is loving, respectful, and unmistakably biblical.
During the days of the Games, the team will attend key locations associated with the Olympics to create intentional opportunities for evangelism. Conversations may begin through shared interest in sports, cultural exchange, or questions about life and meaning, then naturally move toward Christ as the source of forgiveness, purpose, and new life. As people from different backgrounds gather with anticipation, the team will proclaim God’s truth and offer Scripture-based encouragement, pointing hearers to the saving message found in God’s Library—His Word, the Scriptures that reveal who God is and how He redeems sinners through Jesus.
The mission will also extend beyond the venues. Partnering with a youth basketball academy, the team will support young athletes through coaching, mentorship, encouragement, and prayer—using the universal language of sport as a bridge to relationships and witness. In addition, team members will speak with high school students, sharing testimonies, answering questions about faith, and urging young people to seek God early and sincerely. Throughout these interactions, the team will emphasize that the Gospel is not only for “someday,” but for real life right now—where fears, pressures, identity struggles, and future dreams are all met by the truth of Christ.
Prayer walks will be woven throughout the Los Angeles region as a sustaining spiritual foundation for every outreach effort. By walking neighborhoods and praying for families, schools, workplaces, and visitors, the team will intercede for open hearts and receptive conversations, while also asking God for courage, wisdom, and compassion. Ultimately, the trip will aim to impact both residents and visitors with tangible kindness and clear proclamation—demonstrating faith through prayer, service, and conversation—so that people leave not only with memories of the Games, but with seeds of the Gospel and the transforming truth of God’s Word.
